The visa application includes evidence that you had applied for a skills assessment for your nominated skilled occupation by a relevant assessing authority
Your skills have been assessed by a relevant assessing authority as suitable for your nominated skilled occupation ('suitable skills assessment')
You have met the Australian study requirement in the past six months
Each degree, diploma or trade qualification used to meet the Australian study requirement is closely related to your nominated skilled occupation.
Each occupation has a relevant Skills Assessing authority where the skills assessment must be applied from.
If the qualification is a Trade Occupation, the assessing authority is Trades Recognition Australia and an assessment is undertaken through the Job Ready Program (JRP).
This is a four-step employment-based skills assessment program that provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate that your skills and job readiness are relevant to your nominated occupation, in an Australian workplace before you apply for migration in Australia.
The four steps in the JRP are:
Step 1 - Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA)
Step 2 - Job Ready Employment (JRE)
Step 3 - Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
Step 4 - Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA)
A successful PSA Outcome (step 1) is used to apply for the subclass 485 visa for trade occupations and then enables you to obtain employment experience and continue with the JRP steps 2 to 4.
If the nominated occupation is a Nurse, the skills assessment must be applied for from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council.
